The Tommy DOG Experience Family Tree

1984 to 1991

My discography tells my whole timeline. But after I fired Howie Pyro and disbanded La-Bas I decided to name a new band after myself. I was writing everything, doing the booking and half the time I was picking up the tab. Nick came from The Stimulators, Alex came from The Misguided and Jack was and very well may still be Even Worse.

Band 1: Tommy DOG / Vocals, Guitar This band did two records.
  Nick Marden / Bass
  Alex Totino / Guitar
  Jack Rabid / Drums

Band 2: Tommy DOG / Vocals, Guitar This line up existed for a year or so.
Nick Marden Jay Goldman / Bass, Harp Nick went to play with The Blowtorch Boys and Flash Cooney and The Deans Of Discipline. Later he was in Letch Patrol and The False Prophets. Currently now he's a Suicide King.
Alex Totino Eric Schenkman / Guitar Alex went on to form Das Damen.
  Jack Rabid / Drums

Band 3: Tommy DOG / Vocals, Guitar This band was with me for what seemed like a long time.
  Jay Goldman / Bass, Harp
  Eric Schenkman / Guitar
Jack Rabid Stan Zak / Drums Jack went on to form Spring House.

Band 4: Tommy DOG / Vocals, Guitar This line up lasted one rehearsal.
Jay Goldman Brian Swirsky / Bass, Harp After the last recording I never saw or spoke to Jay again.
Eric Schenkman Mark Lazar / Guitar Eric went on to start The Spin Doctors.
  Stan Zak / Drums

Band 5: Tommy DOG / Vocals, Guitar
  Brian Swirsky / Bass, Harp
  Mark Lazar / Guitar
Stan Zak Alan Blattberg / Drums Stan packed up and formed The Groove Unit Orchestra. I think he just didn't want to do the same damn set for yet another year.
This was the last line up of the band. I had personal problems and walked out during a rehearsal, it had nothing to do with the band I just didn't have it in me to play. The band lasted another two weeks playing the set but without me. There wasn't any real reason for them to continue, it was my band, my name, I was gone and any hope that I was going to come back was forgotten.

Though I was writing another album at the time I lost interest and didn't really record the material properly. I don't know whether this band would have done that album or just performed it live. I guess we'll never know.

The Brain People are really my band concept but they just simply are not a Rock $ Roll band. I've tried to write that material mainly for my solo thing. Though I have no current back up band and a lot of years gone by I do still threaten to come back a rape and pillage in the Rock $ Roll style that I love to hate and hate to love so much.
